BAY AREA · FLOORING & FINISHES
A seamless foundation. A complete material story.
Connect your kitchen to the rest of your home through flooring, hardware, fixtures, and carefully coordinated finishes.

THE SCOPE
Materials that work together
Compare durability, maintenance, and floor height as well as appearance. Coordinate cabinet installation, thresholds, and adjacent rooms before committing to a material.
Subfloor and existing condition review
Hardware and fixture coordination
Installation sequence and finish protection
PLANNING THE WORK
What comes before
installation.
The floor system, preparation work, and cabinet sequence determine installation timing. Allowances for leveling or concealed damage are separated from the agreed base scope.
Bring to the site review
- Floor area, transitions, and adjacent-room materials
- Existing subfloor condition and changes in floor height
- Chosen floor system, hardware, and finish samples
What changes the estimate
Flooring material, demolition, subfloor preparation, moisture or leveling work, transitions, trim, delivery access, and finish protection.
Materials, labor, allowances, and related trade work are listed separately in the written scope. Whole-kitchen price ranges are not individual-service quotes.
Evaluate the base
Review the existing floor, subfloor, height changes, and transitions to adjacent rooms.
Choose the sequence
Coordinate manufacturer installation requirements with cabinet placement and appliance clearances.
Install and protect
Complete the agreed preparation and finish work, then protect surfaces through the remaining installation.
CABINETS, MATERIALS & SCHEDULING
Specify the cabinets.
Then set the start.
The cabinet schedule records the manufacturer, line, construction, finish, dimensions, accessories, and supplier-confirmed delivery date.
Stock cabinetry
Check available sizes, filler requirements, finish availability, and whether every piece is in stock before demolition.
Semi-custom cabinetry
Confirm size options, finished panels, storage inserts, shop-drawing approval, and the supplier’s current production slot.
Custom cabinetry
Approve measured drawings, finish samples, appliance integration, and fabrication details before release. Delivery depends on the selected shop.
Brand and cabinet-line selection is project-specific. Lead times are confirmed in writing with the supplier rather than promised as a universal delivery window.
Before construction
Measure → approve layout and selections → obtain required permits → confirm cabinet delivery.
Early construction
Protect the home, demolish the agreed scope, complete rough trades, and pass required rough inspections.
Installation
Install cabinetry, measure and fabricate countertops, then coordinate backsplash, appliances, and final trade work.
Completion
Complete final inspections, review the punch list, and hand over agreed documentation.
Planning windows after approvals and materials: 5–7 weeks for a same-layout remodel and 8–14 weeks for structural or utility changes. Actual milestones follow the agreed scope and inspection availability.
BEFORE YOU REQUEST A VISIT
Plan this part of your kitchen.
Scope, scheduling, and permits come before the final price.
Cost
Flooring material, demolition, subfloor preparation, moisture or leveling work, transitions, trim, delivery access, and finish protection.
An individual-service estimate follows measurements and a defined scope. The full kitchen ranges do not price this work on its own.
Duration
The floor system, preparation work, and cabinet sequence determine installation timing. Allowances for leveling or concealed damage are separated from the agreed base scope.
Permits
Permit requirements follow the city and exact scope. Cabinet replacement can require a permit even if the layout stays. Electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and wall changes generally need local review before work begins.
Find your city’s permit guideCan the layout stay?
Yes, subject to the existing conditions and appliance fit. A same-layout remodel can replace cabinetry and surfaces while keeping the main footprint. Wiring, plumbing, ventilation, and permits still need review. Wall removal and relocated utilities are separate scope decisions.
05 / BEFORE YOU BEGIN
A few good
questions.
Before planning your flooring & finishes project.
Should flooring go in before cabinets?
The sequence depends on the flooring system and cabinet design. Some floors can run beneath cabinetry; floating systems may require a different approach. Follow the manufacturer’s requirements and the agreed installation plan.
How is this work priced?
Pricing follows a site review and a written scope. Material selections, measurements, installation conditions, and related utility work determine the estimate; a whole-kitchen planning range is not a quote for this individual service.
Where do you offer this service?
Share your project city to confirm availability. The kitchen service area includes San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Fremont, Milpitas, Walnut Creek, Concord, San Ramon, and Danville.
